Burwell Independence Day Celebration — July 4

The Burwell Fire Department once again has a couple great activities planned for the Independence Day Celebrations. On Saturday, July 4th, starting at 5:00 pm, there will be a free-will donation BBQ and watermelon feed at the Fire Hall – along with live entertainment. Then, about 9:30 PM as it starts to get dark, the Fire Department will present the annual fireworks display at the Burwell City Park (bring your own lawn chair). Certification training, money and a lot of work goes into this event, so be sure to express your gratitude to our Fire Department.Fireworks

ANNUAL AG APPRECIATION EVENING — JUNE 12

The Burwell Chamber’s 4th annual Ag Appreciation Evening is Friday, June 12th. This year’s event will again feature two parts:

Part One is a community BBQ Feed in front of the Chamber office south of the downtown square from 5:30 until 8:00 PM, and will include beef and pork BBQ Ag Apprec 2015 flyersandwiches, pasta salad, baked beans, chips and watermelon. Free-will donations will be accepted to benefit the Chamber’s Ag Education Scholarships for area high-school graduates, and KNLV’s J.J. Johnnie James will be playing the best of country music.

Part Two will be at the Garfield County Fairgrounds and feature a Beer Garden and Dance/Live Entertainment by the popular, West Wind band. The Beer Garden at the fairgrounds will be open from 7:00 PM until 1:00 AM (cash bar, 21 and over), and the Dance/Live Band Entertainment will start at 9:00 PM and go until 1:00 AM – with a $5 cover charge.

Everyone is invited to a great evening to celebrate the Ag industry in our community and say “thank you” to our area Ag producers and supplies. We are particularly grateful for our many Chamber business sponsors that make this special event possible.
