The Burwell Chamber of Commerce is once again supporting Nebraska’s Big Rodeo this year by organizing and operating the Rodeo Trolley to help with transportation around town to businesses and additional parking options – and hopefully alleviating some of the parking congestion at the fairgrounds. If possible, area residents are encouraged to use the trolley to get to/from the rodeo, which will allow more parking space at the fairgrounds for our out-of-town guests.
The trolley will run on:
- Wednesday and Thursday (July 22-23) from 5:00-11:00 PM
- Friday (July 24) from 4:00 PM-1:30 AM
- Saturday (July 25) from 11:00 AM-1:30 PM
With 12 different trolley stop locations posted around town, pickups at each stop should be approximately every 10-15 minutes. The trolley map, indicating the route of the trolley from the rodeo grounds to downtown and back, and each stop location, will be inserted in next week’s edition of The Burwell Tribune, is available at the Chamber office and the Rodeo ticket and information offices, or at www.NebraskasBigRodeo or BELOW.

Next Saturday, July 25th, is our annual Rodeo Parade in downtown Burwell, with this year’s theme, “A Salute to Nebraska’s Big Rodeo Queens.” If you or your business want to be in the parade, it’s not too late. Parade entry forms, providing an opportunity to describe your entry to the audience or radio listeners, are available at the Chamber office. Entry is also available on the day of the parade, starting at 8:00 AM on Saturday morning, near the tennis courts at the Burwell City Park. Entries must be checked in by 9:00 AM in order to be judged “best” in one of twelve different entry categories. The Rodeo Parade will start at 10:00 AM. Special thanks go out to the City of Burwell staff for helping with parade set-up downtown, and the many volunteers that support this event.
That’s right – our Garfield County Fair and Nebraska’s Big Rodeo starts next week (July 19-25 – with rodeo starting July 22). The ticket office is now open at the rodeo grounds, and can be reached by calling 308-346-5010. Check out the complete schedule of events in this week’s The Burwell Tribune, or by picking up a printed schedule at the Chamber office or other businesses around town. And get ready to welcome all of our out of town guests to Burwell!
